Feeds and Character Set
Several of the feeds in the left sidebar...
<<<< thataway <<<<
...contain accented characters. The current version of the rss-feed plugin I'm using doesn't correctly bring the utf-8 characters over to this page. One of these weeks I'm going to upgrade to a beta-version of totally re-written MT feed plugin from the same person. In the meantime, if you tell your browser the page is iso-8859-1 (Western), the feeds will look right, but this will screw up any accented characters in posts on this page. Just so you know!

Yes, these characters sets are always problematic. I think I better avoid using non basic latin characters in the titles and categories for the moment.

Well, as I say, it's a trade-off. If you want extended characters on your own blog, it's no problem. Movable Type uses utf-8 and everything works fine. It's just that feed plugin that messes them up when they appear somewhere else via mt-rssfeed. I need to upgrade this and also make a configure the rebuild script as a daily (hourly?) cron job so that the feeds are updated.
