"Os Contra"
BBC News reported today on the Macuxi of Flexal village, one the few villages in the newly demarcated Reserva Raposa-Serra do Sol who opposed the creation of the reservation, who had kidnapped some Federal Police agents, and released them unharmed. BBC News reports that they are concerned about the loss of jobs in the rice plantations. What they don't say is that the rice plantations are far from this village. More likely is that they are afraid of losing kickbacks from the local state government to oppose the demarcation.
