An anthroplogist after my own heart
Check out this story in the student newspaper of Glendale College about Wendy Fonarow, an Anthropology professor who's master's thesis was on children's behavior on Halloween and her doctoral dissertation on "the aestetics and rituals of indie rock music".

I'm so glad to hear that my research interests you. My book on indie music is coming out on University of Wesleyan Press in February. People in the music scene call me the professor of indie rock which I really like. How you found that article, I'll never know. You have a fun blog. P.S. the photo in the article is horrid but what are you going to do.
