The Office
I'm moving up in the world...sort of. I packed up and migrated to a new office down the hall. Last semester I shared a large one with three other people. My new one is a corner office, but that doesn't make that much of difference when it's in the basement of the building. It's quite cozy and quieter than my old place and I kind of enjoy the cold, bare concrete walls. Aside from the fact that it desperately needs to go head to head with a vacuum cleaner, it's not too shabby.
Here's a shot I took with my camera phone after I got everything situated.

Padded chairs?? They give you padded chairs? What luxury for a graduate student! Why, back in my day...:-) I see that windowless is still the grad student norm. though.

Those walls do look a bit stark and cold...

haha, yeah. The padded chairs are nice but some of the stains worry me. I have two other chairs in there (it's technically a storage room) that are literally from the 70's. As for the computer, it takes about 10 minutes to fully boot and another 2 or 3 just to open a browser. I actually keep a book handy when I'm doing things on it. I have it rough!...
